Hagen Troschke

Hagen Troschke conducts interdisciplinary research on current developments of antisemitism. Based on an MA in History, Psychology and Media Studies, his fields of activity include the history, language and iconography of antisemitism, hate speech, racism, and far-right ideologies. He has placed a focus on social media, where the greatest dynamics in the spread of these phenomena can be found today. He investigated antisemitism in social media as a researcher at the Department of General Linguistics at the Technische Universität Berlin (2014-2017), using linguistic pragmatics among other approaches. Besides scientific analysis he is engaged in preventive work. In 2018, he was a consultant for the Action Weeks against Antisemitism, and in 2019, he created teaching materials on antisemitism and Salafism as a research assistant in an educational project. In addition to having provided information to the public in the form of brochures, exhibitions and videos with social media influencers, he is involved in scientific consulting.
